The 2015 Fernando Valley Club (FVC) Snowbird was won by the fabulous couple, Cindy and Alex Bieche with their blue check hen “Cinderella,” AU-15-BIECHE-5338.

The Snowbird is one of the longest running young bird futurity races in the country, with 2015 as its 30th consecutive year of operation. Over the years, the race has attracted the biggest names in the sport. Winning the Snowbird is truly an accomplishment.

The 2015 race had five handlers: Paul Nakayama, Bruno Lascurain, Carl Loizzi, Saul Landa and Larry Felt – all champions in their own right. This year’s race saw 141 birds go to the big race and the overall winner, “Cinderella,” flew 356 miles at a speed of 1,397.293 ypm, beating the next bird by 2.10 minutes. What a race!

Cindy and Alex not only won overall, they also won first in Paul Nakayama and Saul Landa’s lofts, as well as first overall Snowbird.  Their first bird to each loft won $10,000 each in addition to the first overall, which won $20,000—making their total winnings at the Snowbird $30,800!

“Cinderella” is down from the “Bieche Baron”/ “Bold Ruler” family of birds and a “Chipo” bred cock. Alex has been cultivating and winning with this line of birds for over a decade. The Bieche’s bird, AU-15-BIECHE-5328,  that clocked first in Saul Landa’s loft and 6th Overall Snowbird (winning $800) also a hen and is bred from the famous “Schellens” bloodline that Alex has done so well with over the years.

Congratulations to Cindy and Alex Bieche on another big win!
